As a virtual assistant I am learning new things almost everyday about online stuff. So many stories have already been told about “blogging”. The best side of the story, bloggers are earning while doing things that they enjoy …”writing”. I am not a good writer, but I am trying my best to be one.

I am not expecting to make money out of this blog as I only aim to help Filipinos who wish to work from home. If this thing would give me the chance to have financial freedom in the future and live more comfortably, I might as well consider it as a “career”.

One of my colleagues asked if it’s possible to work as virtual assistant without an internet connection in her house. Of course it is possible but your main purpose to work from home will be defeated. It has to be noted that those who are seeking services of virtual assistants prefer to employ applicants with stable internet connections. Choose the best one from those that are operating in your area.

Since 2009 I have been maintaining two (2) internet subscriptions. As a full-time online worker, it’s a necessity for me to always have a back-up connection.

So if you want to always be connected around the globe, apply for an internet connection now. This is a very important step if you are really dreaming to become a virtual assistant.

Handy Tips for Filipino VA

This blog serves as a window to share things that I am learning as a virtual assistant. I am now doing researching, article re-writing, encoding, bookmarking, sending press releases, subpage writing, SEO, etc. Online researching (my first assignment) requires high analytic skills to get things done. You have to be very patient in following leads to get the exact information that you want to have.

For those who are wishing to become virtual assistants I am encouraging you to be familiar with Google Docs (google it). Future employers prefer to hire those who are well-versed with it.

Other tips:

• Open a bank account (I recommend BDO). This is where your salary will be wire-transferred. It is more convenient than any other ways of receiving earnings. In my case, my employer uses XOOM to transfer money to my BDO account as bank deposit. Processing takes only few minutes.

July 20,2011 (around 12 MN) was a very special night for me. I was about to turn off my desktop computer when I received an e-mail from a foreigner who saw my profile atwww.va4u.com It was not actually a personalized e-mail because he also sent the same to other possible would be VA’s. He was looking for a virtual assistant to serve as a researcher for his on-line stuff. I immediately responded even if it was already past midnight (Phil. Time). We exchanged a couple of e-mails for two (2) days as part of the hiring process…and to cut it short!!!! Presto I got the job!
